With Love from KLIA

I find myself sitting at the ultra modern Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia. The last three weeks seems an absolute blur? How did I find myself at Gate C4 of KLIA waiting to board a plane to Bombay, India? Well, it’s a long long story. Its almost like one of those dreams you have. A dream which just when the best part is about to happen, you wake up. The only difference is that this isn’t a dream and I lived and breathed every last minute of this journey.

It all started with accepting a Graduate job offer with an international oil company. I knew I was going to have the opportunity to travel but I didn’t think it would be like this.

My job location is in Bombay India and the work visa was granted after a very long long wait. No sooner than the visa was granted 10days ago, I was put on a plane two days later heading for Kuala Lumpur. Arriving here, I have met some of the most magnificent human beings you could ever encounter. I am talking about 70 people from 20 different nationalities. Blacks, Chinese, Myanmar, Egyptians, Jordanians, Omani, Gabonese, Iranians, I cannot even begin to remember all these nationalities. What I remember and will forever hold dear to me is that in the 7 days we were all together, we bonded like I never did with even my own country men. And please believe me when I say that this connection was real and very special. I will like to dedicate this post to all the friends I made during my induction training in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia OCT 07.

Below is a view of the petronas towers in kuala lumpur.
Now back to the gist at hand. So, I’m sitting at the KLIA airport. I have heard that there is free WIFI at this airport but I don’t seem to be able to connect to yahoo. I am a little bit apprehensive about making the move to Bombay not because I do not know anybody there, but because I am starting to wonder if I will have to shave my hair off if I am unable to find any afro hair dressers in the city. Abeg my people, please pray for me. I will be posting all of the pictures which we took in Kuala Lumpur over the next couple of days (if I ever find access to the internet)

I will miss Manchester, I will miss my brothers, I will miss knowing that I have family around whom I could always run too.. most of all, I am looking forward to Bombay!

Stay Tuned!

My Egbon,

Things are okay for now. I am still staying at a hotel but I hear that I will be moving to a flat tomorrow. I hope this is true as my hotel is very isolated.

How are things with you..

Love

Your aburo
